Joe Catania participated as one of the judges in the Yale University 2016 Invitational Mock Trial held the weekend of December 3, 2016. The judges evaluate teams participating in the tournament, assigning scores for opening statements, direct examinations, cross examinations and closing arguments.
The annual collegiate tournament takes place on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT, and hosts one of the strongest fields on the American Mock Trial Association Invitational Circuit.
The Yale Invitational consists of four rounds, with each team competing in two rounds per day. About forty teams from some of the nation’s top Mock Trial programs attend the tournament each year.
Joe's take away: "I can't wait until some of these contestants graduate, go on to Law school and are looking for a job – hopefully in the Hudson Valley so that our firm has an opportunity to consider them. Their intelligence, hard work and commitment was clearly evident given the quality of their presentations and performance"
