Melissa L. Cowan joined Catania, Mahon & Rider PLLC as an associate in 2021. Melissa's practice is concentrated in general liability defense, with particular emphasis in the areas of premises liability, property damages, automobile accidents, construction liability and labor law matters. She routinely represents property owners, commercial tenants, general contractors, construction management firms and subcontractors, handling all aspects of a claim from inception through trial, including all depositions and motion practice. Melissa has analyzed and litigated complex insurance coverage issues related to commercial general liability and excess insurance policies. Melissa has experience in complex personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death matters.
Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from SUNY Albany and her J.D. degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law. Melissa was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2016.
